On Saturday Savoy Court hosted a BBQ with live jazz by Nasar Abadey on site in the private, landscaped courtyard. We stopped by to enjoy the music and tour the residences developed by Building Partnerships, LLC and sold by McWilliams|Ballard.
Savoy Court is conveniently located at 210 Oakwood Street, SE, Washington, DC 20032, minutes from Interstate 295. The location offers easy access to downtown DC, National Harbor to the south or Old Town Alexandria.
Savoy Court's neighborhood and broader area of The District east of the Anacostia River is undergoing a renaissance thanks to affordable housing alternatives and significant public and private investment. Building Partnerships, LLC's purchase of the building in late 2005 for renovation and conversion to quality residential condominiums is an example of the ongoing revival. Other noteworthy projects include proposals for a mixed-use community at Poplar Point (located 1 mile to the north), which may include a new soccer stadium for Washington’s pro soccer team DC United. The Department of Homeland Security is also expected to consolidate its offices and move to a new headquarters on the campus of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital situated a few blocks away from Savoy Court. This 176-acre site could eventually serve a working population of 14,000 professionals.
